10 Years in a Row
Boerne, TX (Nov 19) – For the 10th year in a row, SBS Construction has partnered with the Texas Self-Storage Association (TSSA) in raising funds to support the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. As an ardent supporter of the TSSA’s annual charitable fundraiser, SBS Construction was once again a major donor at this year’s industry conference with a $30,000 cash contribution. In addition to other contributions at the Live and Silent Auction recently held in Dallas, SBS Construction raised additional funds with industry associates Schulte Building Systems of Hockley, Texas and Hill Electric of San Antonio.
Dave Morgan, Executive Vice President and Ted Culbreth, Vice President of Sales, represented SBS at the TSSA conference. Steve Schiffman, President of SBS, was unable to join the presentation. Schiffman and Morgan, the original founders of SBS, have been supporters of the Shriner Hospital program for many years. They also support other charitable endeavors throughout each year. SBS executives noted that “the Company is very proud of its efforts over the past 10 years of supporting the TSSA and the Shriners Hospital.” SBS has also been sponsors of events for the March of Dimes and other charities and has more recently become involved in efforts related to supporting our Veterans and Active Duty personnel. Schiffman noted that “SBS proudly displays a sign at every project site with an American Flag and stating that We Support our Troops.” SBS recently completed a stockings for Christmas program and will once again be adopting military families to provide gifts and food for the upcoming Christmas season.
The Shriners Hospital for Children delivers critical burn treatment services to children with the most critical burn injuries regardless of the ability of the family to pay for the treatments provided. Their slogan, “Love to the Rescue” is very much in evidence with all the work they do for the children in their care.
The Texas Self-Storage Association holds their industry conference each October at which time they focus on their annual charitable fundraising efforts for the Shriners Hospital. Raffles, a Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament, live and silent Auctions and other events culminate with the Cash Challenge event lead by Morgan, Schiffman and other TSSA leaders.
